The Pipes and Drums of the Atlantic Watch is a family-oriented cultural organization devoted to promoting Celtic heritage and traditions through musical instruction and performances. Founded in 1993, while the band’s roots are Scottish it is distinctly American in its diversity. Members are men and women of all ages, representing a wealth of backgrounds brought together by a common desire to perpetuate the rich musical heritage of the Celtic people through piping and drumming.

The Claddagh Pipe Band is a grade IV band and an active affiliate of the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association. The mission of the band is to promote appreciation for Irish Highland Bagpiping as well as represent the greater North Jersey area in the competitive piping community. Claddagh Pipe Band was founded on the ideals of comradeship and a passion for good music.

The High Desert Pipes and Drums of Albuquerque, NM, is a non-profit organization devoted to the cultivation, preservation, and promotion of Scottish bagpiping and drumming. The band was founded in 1994 by Pipe Major Bill Horn and soon established itself as a Grade IV competition band. In 1997, HDP&D made its first appearance at the World Pipe Band Championships (or ‘The Worlds’) in Scotland.

Our band is named in honor of Edward Patrick Maloney, a founder and charter member of the New York City Police Department Emerald Society Pipe and Drum band, considered in pipe circles to be the Notre Dame of bagpipe bands. The NYPD band was formed in 1960 and made its debut in the 1961 St. Patrick’s Day parade in New York City. Mr. Maloney, a son of Irish immigrants, served in the Navy during the Korean War and later logged 21 years on the NYPD. He was an active bandsman at the time of his death in May 2000.

The Broome County Celtic Pipes and Drums is a musical and cultural group dedicated to the preservation, practice and presentation of the art of the Great Highland Bagpipes and Scottish snare drum in a marching band context. BCCP&D promotes Celtic heritage through public performance, participation in Celtic cultural events and support to charitable organizations. BCCPD spreads Celtic culture to all willing to learn by providing free musical instruction on the bagpipes and drums.

The Amityville Highland Pipe Band consists of a diverse group of individuals. Blue and white collar workers, civil servants, law enforcement personnel, students and others come together to celebrate the tradition of The Black Watch and the stirring music of the pipes and drums. The Amityville Highland Pipe Band is the ONLY civilian band in the world that has been commissioned by Her Royal Majesty, the Queen of England, to wear The Black Watch tartan. It is an honor that the band cherishes, and it is a dedication that each member carries with him into the performing arena: A dedication to represent and preserve the honor, integrity and valor of The Black Watch.

The Gaelic version, Onoir Do Na Marbh, appears on the band’s bass drum and shoulder patches. The band participates in line of duty death funerals to honor firefighters, EMS personnel and police officers and has traveled to Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia and Massachusetts to perform for firefighter line of duty death services. In October of 2002, we participated in the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Washington, DC. and in September of 2004, we traveled to Colorado Springs for the International Association of Firefighters annual Fallen Firefighter Memorial.

More than 50 years ago, an accomplished piper from Scotland by the name of Bobby Peters had a “Capital” idea…to form a bagpipe band in his new home of Columbus, Ohio. After much diligent work, Capital City Pipes and Drums was formed and was destined to become one of the most familiar bands in Central Ohio.
