Chicago Celtic

Chicago Celtic, a Grade 3 pipe band based in Chicago, IL.

The Chicago Celtic Pipe Band was founded in 1997, by Jim Enright Sr. He started it with his daughter, sons, and a few close friends who had spent many years playing together in local bands. The band was formed to bring Celtic music to the area at various functions such as weddings, family gatherings, festivals and parades.

As the band grew in membership, it began to compete at the Grade 4 level. It strived to improve by working with many excellent instructors both locally and from other regions. With improvement, came more members and the band moved to the Grade 3 level. It is a proud member of the Midwest Pipe Band Association and has competed locally, throughout the Midwest region and in Canada.

It is sponsored by Hackney’s Restaurant in Glenview and can be found playing many performances there during the St. Patrick’s Day season, as well as the Fourth of July Parade in Glenview each year.

The band continually works to grow and improve with each year. Chicago Celtic will compete at the Grade 3 level and The Jim Enright Sr. Memorial Pipe Band will compete at the Grade 5 level for the 2025 season. We also feature some of our members with the Grade 2 Midlothian Scottish Pipe Band.

The band meets on Thursdays from 6:30 - 9:00.

Rehearsals are located at Our Saviour’s United Methodist Church at 701 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, IL 60194.
